Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session is about getting to know you—your background, concerns, and goals for therapy. It’s a relaxed, judgment-free conversation where we explore how therapy can best support you.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, relationships, or adjusting to civilian life, therapy can provide tools and support to help. You don’t need to have a crisis to benefit—therapy is for anyone seeking growth and healing.

Will I have to talk about my military experiences right away?

Not at all. You control what you share and when. Therapy moves at your pace, and we focus on what feels most comfortable and helpful to you.

How long does therapy usually last?

The length of therapy varies for everyone. Some veterans find a few sessions helpful, while others prefer long-term support. We’ll work together to find the right approach for you.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Yes, with very few exceptions related to safety concerns. Your privacy is a top priority, and we’ll discuss confidentiality guidelines during your first session.

What if I feel uncomfortable or don’t click with my therapist?

It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we can discuss finding a different approach or therapist who better meets your needs.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?

No commitment is required. You can attend as many or as few sessions as you need, and we can adjust as your needs evolve.

What types of payment do you accept, and do you offer sliding scale options?

We accept most major insurance plans, and we also offer private pay options. If you don’t have insurance or prefer to pay out of pocket, we provide flexible payment options, including a sliding scale based on financial need. Feel free to reach out for specific details about coverage and payment plans.

How do I get started with therapy?

Getting started is simple—just reach out to schedule a consultation. We’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions you have along the way.

  • At Riverstone Wellness LLC, we strive to provide a supportive and professional environment for both our clients and providers. If a client misses three consecutive sessions without notifying their provider, they will be discharged from services in order to ensure availability for those actively seeking care. Additionally, we have a zero-tolerance policy for verbal abuse, including cursing, racial slurs, sexual advances, or any other form of disrespectful behavior toward our providers or staff. While we deeply respect and value our veteran clients, we are also committed to maintaining a safe and professional space for our team. If a client engages in inappropriate or disrespectful conduct, we will not hesitate to terminate services immediately.
